Focusing

Recently I've been thinking a lot about choosing and focusing. When I spend some time on research, I find there are so many possibilities in life and so much exciting idea to implement. I have to admit this annoyed me but finally I begin to realize: I have to give up a lot before I can really gain something. Focusing is always the key to success.

First you have got a will, then you figure out a way. If you are not sure about your destination, it's impossible for you to move a step.

If you have more than 3 goals in life, you can finally reach none goals.

Introduction of common CSR audits

Today international buyers are paying more and more attention to factory's social responsibility environment. Passing different kinds of CSR audits has gradually become the key factor to win orders from serious clients. Below is a brief introduction about different kinds of factory audits for your reference.

3.       SA8000 audit
As a system created by SAI, SA8000 is the best practice of corporation social responsibility. Required by some international buyers on their suppliers in countries with bad social environment. In China, quite a few factories have passed SA8000 audit.

4.       WRAP audit
WRAP is short for Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production. Usually required by apparel buyers and traders in the USA to make sure the apparel they are buying is manufactured in lawful, humane and ethical factories.
(for apparel products)

5.       BSCI audit
BSCI is short for Business Social Compliance Initiative. It is the broadest business-driven platform for the improvement of social compliance in the supply chain of commerce. It has more than 180 members, mainly retailers, industry and importing companies from 11 countries. In China market, BSCI is the most common CSR audit. 6.       SEDEX audit
SEDEX is short for Supplier Ethical Data Exchange. Many retailers, supermarkets, brands, suppliers and other organizations are requesting that the farms, factories, and manufacturers they partner with participate in SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audits (SMETA) to assure that ethical trading is taking place. SMETA audits are designed to be accepted by all SEDEX A and AB members as well as other clients and stakeholders.

7.       COC audit
COC is short for code of conduct. A code of conduct is a set of rules outlining the responsibilities of or proper practices for an individual or organization. But in CSR field, COC is a set of rules set up by buyers and brand owners to make sure their products are manufactured in an acceptable social environment. Disney, Tesco, Guess, Target, Staple, Nike, Adidas, Costco and many other companies have their own code of conduct. Vendors that are doing business with them are usually required to apply their code of conduct on the suppliers.

8.       Generic audit
Generic audit is a simple and effective way for buyers and vendors to know a factory's social environment. It's also a good way for a factory to preview its own social environment before accepting any kind of social audit. It's a special service of Intertek, effective and economical.

My profile in Linkedin

My profile in Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/passion2008

I look forward to connecting with passionate people.

I believe it is not enough to know a person through his or her profile online. Interview is always necessary for really knowing a person. Therefore I think online profile is just for reference. Internet is not made to make friends but made to get and share information and you have to judge the authenticity of information yourself.

How to make sure the food you are buying is safe?

One of the keys to any successful Food Safety Program is to "know who you are buying from." In order to do this, food suppliers' facilities should be inspected on a regular basis either by your own auditors, approved 3rd party auditors or combinations of the two methods. This must be done in a comprehensive but cost effective manner.

Intertek has extensive experience in understanding how to develop, implement and validate/verify supplier-auditing programs. We offer comprehensive services in this regard such as:

1.FQA_ Factory Quality Assessment

This audit is usually performed before you place an order to a factory, aiming to examine the factory's production capability, machinery, management and quality procedures, operations and processed. We will brief your quality requirements to make sure that appropriate factories are used and our quality specification thoroughly understood by the factories.

2.PPI_Pre-Production Inspection

PPI happens before actual production begins, with the approved samples provided by you, we will counter check the raw materials ,components and accessories for the ordered merchandise to detect any potential defect. We will randomly select some semi-finished products for checking and report our findings to you and also give technical advice to the factory to minimize the chance of having defects during actual production.

3, DPI_ During Production Inspection

Normally carried out when 10_15% of goods are completed, DPI is designed not only for checking if the works are manufacturing with good manufacturing practice to avoid any potential quality risk , but also for shipment with substantial quantity, product line with continuous production and high requirement for on time shipment, also re-check defects discovered in PPI and make sure they have been rectified if there is any.

4.FRI  Final Random Inspection

Commencing when the merchandise are completed or at least 80% are ready and well packed , we have FRI to check on safety, quantity, workmanship, function, color, size, packing, etc. to ensure the function and appearance of the products are consistent and satisfactory to the requirements and specifications defined by you.

5.Loading Supervision

Monitoring the loading process and checking on quantity, weight, color, size and good packing etc. by random samples  and proper handling of the cargos. The container(s) being witnessed will then be sealed, if required, with Intertek seal tape. This service reduces the importation risk of important cargos. Frankly speaking , I think this will make the empty boxes far away from you.

Normally, 1 day is needed for each of the above service and the charge will depend on the actual aspects such as your requirements, samples quantity and checking items.
